Richard Flanagan - President Richard Flanagan is the founding shareholder and Managing Director of Richard Flanagan and Company Pty Ltd which employs 182 permanent persons including 24 apprentices. He is a member of various groups including the Advisory Committee on Industrial Requirements for Gold Coast TAFE, Director of CIRT, Director of JETCO, past Chairman Regional Vocational Education and Training Roundtable and Advisor to QUSITAB, and, Councillor for the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE.Geoff Baldwin - Immediate Past President Geoff Baldwin has been contracting since 1975 and in that same year he established Tamborine Mountain Electrical and Tamborine Mountain Refrigeration. He has also been a member of ECA since 1975 and has served on the ECA Board for more than nine years.Geoff currently holds an electrical contractors licence and an electrical fitter/mechanic licence. In 1989 he purchased Canungra Retravision and established Combyte Technologies in 2000. He is also a member of the AICD. Tony Divertie - Senior Vice President
An ECA member for 12 years, Tony Divertie owns and operates EcoLec which services residential, commercial and electrical clients in Townsville and surrounding areas. Tony is an enthusiastic member of the Council after having been an ECA Townsville branch delegate for the past eight years. Vince Whelan - Junior Vice President Vince Whelan is the owner/operator of a medium sized specialist electrical contracting business on the Sunshine Coast. His business is essentially water and waste water engineering, designs and constructs municipal pumping stations and switchboards and industrial maintenance. Vince has been in the electrical industry for 29 years. As Sunshine Coast Branch Coordinator and with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Vince is well qualified to serve the members of Queensland on the Board of ECA. Steve Downey - Treasurer Steve Downey became an electrical contractor in 1983 and joined ECA in 1987. With formal qualifications as an Electrical Contractor and an Electrical fitter / mechanic, Steve has also completed an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering and is an Accredited Hazardous Areas Installation Auditor. Peter Marshall - Councillor Peter Marshall established his own electrical contracting business and joined ECA as a Member in 1972. He has served on the ECA Board for approximately 15 years and has held positions of Councillor, Junior Vice President and Treasurer.During this time, Peter has represented ECA on the CIRT Board; Electrical Safety Advisory Committee and the EL1/4 for a short time. Tony Arnold - Councillor Having grown up in the Electrical Industry, Tony Arnold has seen first hand the everyday issues which impact on electrical contracting businesses. It is this experience that has led to Tony to his position on the ECA council. Tony's second generation family business has grown consistenly with the many and varied ups and downs of the past decades. He has been witness to the many changes which have occured within the association and its membership base and wishes to put back into the industry which as provided some great working relationships, and friendships which continue to grow. Owen Blamires - Councillor As an Electrical Contractor for the past 26 years in the domestic, commercial and industrial areas, Owen Blamires has always promoted and upheld the high standards of the electrical industry to his staff and the public. Owen has a strong commitment to the electrical industry, especially in the areas of training and safety. He comes to ECA with an endeavour to represent grass root members and be part of a committee to further the objectives of ECA and benefits of a modern association to all members. Ron Della Piana - Councillor ECA's Councils newest member, Ron Della Piana, has been an electrical contractor for 20 years during which time he has owned and operated R Jay Electrical with the responsibility for 30 staff. Having been a member of ECA for some 17 years, Ron aims to successfully represent members and is greatful to be able to give some of his time and energy back to an industry that has served him well.
