News from the only national association representing & advocating on behalf of Electrical Contractors

In late September we kicked off the 2017 Trans-Tasman Master Electricians Conference in Noumea. With over 380 delegates from both Australia and New Zealand, we had wonderful weather, networking and informative business sessions. Thanks to our team, sponsors and all the delegates who have attended our conference this year. Stay tuned as we will be launching our 2018 Conference soon.

Safety Month

October is National Safety Month and is about a commitment to improve work health and safety. We will be sharing safety news, updates and important events - so stay tuned.

AS/NZS 3000

As we've previously mentioned, AS/NZS 3000 - the Wiring Rules is currently being updated and is expected to be published later this year. Transitioning from one edition of the Wiring Rules to the next can impact on your compliance requirements for an electrical installation. To enable a smooth transition, the enforcement date for the new edition will be six months after the publication date of the standard. We will publish more information once it is to hand.

Excellence Awards

We have just two State Excellence Awards events remaining (VIC/TAS & NSW) before our National Excellence Awards on 18 November in Brisbane. So pencil in the evening of 18 November as it will be a night of glitz and glamour to celebrate all that our State Finalists have achieved in 2017. To attend our National Excellence Awards, contact our events team here
